Tyson Chandler Joins Growing Team of Superstars at Fuse Science

Getting stars to endorse a product is a big advantage in marketing.  After all, there’s a good reason that Citizen has Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, two-time Daytona 500 winner Matt Kenseth and 2010 U.S. Women’s Open champion Paula Creamer sporting their watches and companies like Chattem, a subsidiary of Sanofi-Aventis (NYSE: SNY), get superstars like Shaquille O’Neal to praise the power of Icy Hot.

Although it may not immediately translate into increased share value for smaller companies, getting household names to endorse products is a great way to gain exposure.  For starters, there’s a lot of money surrounding the stars which has the potential to bring-in high net worth investors.  Further, eye-catching headlines that leverage the stars name grab the attention of the investment community as well as the many other broad areas that the company’s name might never be seen without the association to the public figure.

Fuse Science (DROP)

Fuse Science, Inc. (OTCQB: DROP) has embarked down the celebrity endorsement pathway.  The Miami Lakes, Florida-based maker of consumer products focused on redefining how consumers receive energy, medicines, vitamins and minerals, has been steadily adding stars to a growing list of users as “Powered by Fuse!™”.

Keeping its attention in the sports arena, Fuse has signed golfer Tiger Woods, baseball players David Ortiz and Jose Bautista, street skater Paul Rodriguez and football standouts Arian Foster and Rhonde Barber.   The stars are all fans and users of EnerJel™, Fuse’s performance-driven topical muscle and joint rub.  Using Fuse’s proprietary formulation and delivery system, the rub penetrates skin layers to addresses muscle fatigue and deliver an energized feeling.

Today, the company’s roster expanded with the signing of 2012 NBA Defensive Player of the Year and 2012 U.S. Men’s Basketball gold medalist Tyson Chandler joining the team.

“I am a driven and dedicated competitor who leaves everything on the court.  We play on the highest level almost every day and I need all-natural products, which can help me perform at my best.  EnerJel™ makes a real difference and is helping me before and after every game now.  The upcoming launch of PowerFuse™ and ElectroFuse™ drops is going to be game-changing for everybody,” commented Chandler.

Designed to expedite delivery of medicines or nutrients, Fuse products are sublingual and transdermal delivery systems for bioactive agents that can effectively encapsulate and charge many varying molecules in order to produce complete product formulations which can bypass the gastrointestinal tract and enter the blood stream directly - all in a concentrated “DROP” form that is simply applied under the tongue.  EnerJel is the primary revenue driver for Fuse currently with commercial launches for PowerFuse™ and ElectroFuse™ drops schedule for the near term.

“Tyson will be a great partner for the company and we are excited to add him to our team.  With EnerJel™ distribution expanding now at GNC and the upcoming launch of our DROP technology, being Powered By Fuse™ is getting really exciting,” said Adam Adler, Chief Business Officer of Fuse Science, Inc.

The star-studded endorsements haven’t necessarily converted instantly to higher valuations for Fuse as today shares are trading about even around a dime each, but this is well above the $0.001 price point that shares were printing at the beginning of 2011.  Notably, the upside potential is still there as shares had reached as high as $1.25 in December 2011; capping an amazing 124,900 percent rise in value for the year (in short, $100 became $125,000).  Whereas shares have pulled-back considerably from the December 2011 peak, with new product launches on the horizon and more superstars coming on board, the company should be on radar for a possible reversal in share price as their business strategies continue to unfold and larger revenues hit the books.  Proper due diligence is, as always, encouraged.
